Surprising insight from an unassuming source

Some people spend their days in a singleminded quest to find the Truth. They eschew the little pleasantries of life —such as watching TV series or playing Candy Crush— and read dense books with words so seldom used they leave rusty marks on the paper (or rusty pixel marks on the screen); they write treatises or sit for years at the feet of gurus.

But as a classic song goes, “The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls” or —adds the The Florida Dispatch—, they might strike from out of one of the daily comic strips. Here is one of those golden insights flashing its truth at us from the Pearls Before Swine comic strip.

Laura…I loved this one…for some reason, many years ago when I was still in college, I decided there would not be many huge, wonderful events in my life, so it would behoove me to enjoy all the littles things which pleased me…glad to say I have been able to do this for almost 60 years now, save for a few down times . Enjoyed meeting you and Dan today…look forward to seeing you again. Toni
